What I’m Wearing in Patagonia (Summer Edition)
Quick tip: when we move, we generate body heat, so your effort becomes a layer! That’s why smart layering is key. It helps you adapt to changing temps, terrain, and effort level without overheating or freezing.
We’re heading to Patagonia this January, which is peak summer there, but don’t be fooled, the weather can turn in a heartbeat. In just one day, we might hike under blazing sun, battle cold winds, and dodge a little rain. That’s what makes layering essential (and half the adventure!).
I like to think of layering as a system, not a style, start with your skin (a moisture-wicking base), add or remove warmth as needed, and always keep a shell handy for wind or rain. The goal? Stay comfortable, stay dry, and stay moving.
We’ll also be joined by experienced local guides who will carry all the essential emergency gear, meaning we get to pack lighter, move smarter, and focus fully on the adventure ahead!
Check out my full gear list below for how I layer smart, stay light, and make every piece work double duty.
